
Makes about 10 cups
1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 crushed garlic clove
3 ½ cups (28-ounce can) crushed tomatoes
4 cups (two 15-ounce cans) pinto beans
¼ cup chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
¼ teaspoon pepper
Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in large saucepan. Drain off excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; boiling gently, uncovered, 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
