
1 lb ground beef
2 onions, chopped
1 cup cut-up celery
1 green pepper, cut-up
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp chili powder
½ tsp basil
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp sugar
¼ tsp pepper
1 (1 lb) can tomatoes
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
2 (1 lb) cans kidney beans
Brown ground beef; drain. Add onions, celery and green pepper; saute 10 min. Add remaining ingredients except kidney beans; cover and simmer over low heat or bake at 325 for 1-1 ½ hrs. Just before serving, add drained kidney bean (do not drain if thinner consistency is desired); return to heat until heated thoroughly.
