Marge Petersen’s Date and Nut Loaf

Ingredients

2 cups boiling water

1 pkg dates (8 oz)

2 tsp soda

2 Tbls butter

2 eggs

2 cups sugar

4 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1 cup chopped nuts

2 tsp vanilla

Directions

Pour boiling water over dates, soda, and butter and cool. Beat 2 eggs and add sugar. Beat well. Add remaining ingredients.

Bake at 325 or degrees.

2 large bread pans - bake 1 hr and 15 min

4 small pans - bake about 50 minutes
