Pennsylvania Dutch Beef Casserole

Ingredients

1 ½ lbs ground round - brown lightly and drain grease

2 tsp salt

2 tsp sugar

1 16oz can tomatoes (whirl in blender)

1 8oz can tomato sauce

2 cloves garlic, crushed or diced

Pepper to taste

1 8oz pkg thin egg noodles - (Note: I used about 12oz)

1 cup sour cream

3 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

6 green onions, chopped

1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

Combine and simmer fifteen minutes the beef, salt, sugar, tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic and pepper.

Cook noodles, drain and add to mixture of sour cream, cream cheese, and chopped onions. Arrange in layers in greased casserole - the meat mixture, noodles, and grated cheese. Heat until bubbling - 35 min (NOTE: or more - 45 min is good) at 350 degrees. Serves 8.
