Shoestring Pickles

Ingredients

Soak 7 lbs lg cucumbers, peeled, scraped out and cut into shoestrings in 1 (number is overwritten a 3 - could be 1 or 7) cup lime in 3 gal h2o for 24 hours. Drain and rinse thoroughly. Let stand a couple of hours in clear h2o. 

Put in jars and cover with HOT:

2 qts white vinegar

10 c sugar

1 t salt

1 t celery seed

Mixed spices and a couple whole cloves

Directions

Add green food coloring. Seal. Makes 8-10 pints
