
1 cup white sugar
¾ cup white corn syrup
½ cup water
½ tsp red food color
1 tsp anise extract or ½ tsp anise oil
Boil sugar, syrup and water together to hard crack stage. Test by dropping a bit into cold water. Add food coloring and anise.
Pour into a small, flexible pan. When hard, cover with saran and hit it with the end of a table knife to crack it into pieces.
