
1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
⅛ teaspoon salt
½ cup sour milk
½ cup chopped pecans
To make cake:
Cream sugar and shortening until creamy and smooth. Add eggs. Beat thoroughly. Stir in vanilla. Stir in bananas. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with millk to banana mixture. Stir in pecans.
To bake cake:
Bake in greased 9-by 13-inch pan in 350-degree oven for 45-50 minutes. Cool and frost.
