
½ cup water
½ cup wine vinegar
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon whole cloves
2 cups sliced beet (canned or cooked)
Combine all ingredients except beets. Heat to boiling. Pour hot liquid over sliced beets, let stand overnight. I put sliced beets in mason jars and pour the hot liquid over them.
