
1 ⅔ cup flour
1 ⅓ cups sugar
¼ tsp baking pwd
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp nutmeg
⅓ cup shortening
⅓ cup water
⅓ cup nuts
1 cup pumpkin
⅔ cup raisins (heat in 350 oven till puffy)
1 large egg
Sift dry ingredients in bowl Add shortening and remaining ingredients except egg. Beat well with mixer. Add egg and beat 2 minutes. Then add nuts and raisins. Pour into greased 1 ½ qt mold or bundt pan. Bake 40-45 min at 350.
SAUCE:
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup evap milk
1 tsp vanilla
Bring to a boil and thicken slightly. Double for 1 cake.
