
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed ligh br sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 ¾ cups flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
Beat together first 4 ingredients. Stir together flour, salt and baking soda and mix into first mixture. Add ½ of the walnuts.
Cover and chill 1 hour or more. Turn dough into lightly floured sheet of waxed paper. Mold into roll 15” long. Roll in remaining ½ cup nuts. Wrap securely in wax paper, plastic or foil and chill several hours or overnight.
Cut in ⅛” thick slices. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet - light browned around edges. 400 - 6-8 min. Makes 120
