
1 large pkg sugar wafer
¾ cup soft butter (use butter)
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp almond extract
2 lg or 3 sm eggs - separated
1 ½ pts fresh strawberries
½ cup chopped nuts
1 ½ cups whipped cream (I used whole pkg)
Crush wafers fine, spread half in a 12x8x2 in buttered pan. With mixer at med speed cream butter and sugar and extracts. Add egg yolks one at a time beating well; until smooth after each addition. Set aside. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into batter mixture. Spread over wafer crush in pan making a thin layer over crumbs. Put berries on top of batter. Whip cream and spread this on berries, sprinkle on nuts and then sprinkle with rest of wafer.
