
Makes 100 cookies (handwritten note: very small - 42-48 regular size)
2 ¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugars and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 375-degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
Variations: Omit nuts and substitute one of the following: 4 cups rice crispies; 2 cups chopped dates; 2 cups raisins; or 1 tablespoon grated orange rind.
